On Board the MS Royal Princess: Day Nineteen

At Sea

 

[NOTE: I’ve grown weary of writing the usual bullshit narrative; so I’ve decided to dispense with it and present the raw notes I took on my iPhone instead.]

 

-woke up at 09:30, showered, dressed

-breakfast at Horizon Court: bacon, sausages, fried egg, scrambled eggs with peppers, grilled tomato half with herbs, turkey hash, cranberry sauce, orange juice, coffee, English Breakfast tea

-watched ‘Spy’ (had a lot of potential with the premise and some ideas, but was too stupid and not very funny; would’ve preferred a movie with more behind the scenes CIA work with humor coming from the office and it’s trouble with politics and finances while trying to keep agents alive and well in the field; also turning the genre upside down with unglamorous aliases and ugly parts of beautiful cities was initially funny and they should’ve continued with that; however I think Melissa McCarthy was the wrong choice for the lead and they should’ve either went with someone more physically adept and believable in the role or changed the role to someone who wasn’t an expert killer and who would win through more luck and determination than anything else; also the character was too annoying and should’ve been toned down)

-had a cappuccino while watching the film

-lunch at Horizon Court: slice of stuffed pork loin with apple sauce, slice of roast beef with sautéed mushrooms, lamb skewer (with peppers and onions), broccoli, salad, iced tea; then cup of Darjeeling tea

-watched ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’

-watched ‘The Artist’

-dinner at Horizon Court: minute steaks, sautéed shrimp, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, iced tea; then coffee

-back to room to relax

-then to Club 6 for happy hour: four Guinness beers, two glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon, one glass of Riesling, a shot of whiskey; then back to my room where I ordered a bottle of Riesling and a bottle of gin; I drank the Riesling and saved the gin for later

-went to bed around 03:00
